Motivational interviewing for physicians

In winter 2019, Magnify taught a group of Obstetrics & Gynaecology physicians about the Motivational Interview framework. This full day of training supported the UBC department to conduct effective patient conversations while delivering quality care.

Award-winning peer-to-peer mentorship model

At the 2018 Quality Forum for the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council, Beata shared her research findings about a Peer-to-Peer Mentorship model with BC healthcare professionals. This initiative improved all areas of health and safety, and staff reported feeling engaged and better able to provide the type of quality care that emergency patients deserve. This project won the 2018 Gold Apple in Workplace Health Innovation award by the BC Healthcare Awards.

Leading research on presenteeism

In 2017, Beata presented her thesis research, The Drivers of Presenteeism, to healthcare scholars at the Canadian Physician Health Conference. This research was the first of its kind to be studied in Canada and was featured by The University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine’s This Changed My Practice and The Medical Post.
